Ilkley Harriers communications

The Club distributes information to its members in many different ways ...

The web site
The home page shows the latest news and race results; announcements; a calendar of racing, training, and social events; a summary of recent forum activity, and a Twitter feed. A large number of other menu option pages have most of the information that Club members and the public should need. More...
The forums
These were set up as an extension to the web site to allow Club members to add to the web site. Captains, Committee members, and indeed any Club member (who has registered for the forums) can start a 'topic' under a general heading (racing, training, etc.) The forums are public so anyone can read them and see what's going on in Harriers. More...
Facebook
The Club has an open Facebook Group. This is a place for Facebook users to chat and comment, share photos and web links, etc. We also have a minimal Facebook Page. More...
Twitter
The Club's Twitter account twitter.com/ilkleyharriers is summarised with a 'Widget' (latest Tweets) on our home page. Twitter is used to make and pass on short, immediate messages. More...
Email contact
There are a few official Club email addresses. More...
Newsletter
Produced several times a year with colour, contains longer features on Harriers and our activities and 'calls to action' for forthcoming events.
Email newsletter
From August 2015, a monthly email newsletter is sent to all members to 'push' the latest Club information. More...

Newspaper reports
We submit a weekly report to the Ilkley Gazette.
Committee meetings
Members are welcome to attend any Committee Meeting, agendas and minutes are public and online. More...
Annual General Meeting
Generally held at the end of September, notice is given in good time for items to be included on the Agenda and there is always an "Any Other Business" item on the agenda. More...
Commercial communications
We do not pass on any unsolicited commercial communication to our members. If a Club member wants to recommend a shop or service then the only place to do that is in the Commercial Zone forum. However, if a company supports one of our races or events then we do support them with use of logos and a brief mention or link as appropriate. The sparing way in which this is done hopefully improves the effectiveness of those links, while being less wearing for all involved.
The email group
This was set up originally in 2006 but disbanded in 2015, replaced by the Email newsletter, forums, and social media.
