From Hilda Coulsey…
What a fantastic set of times, I don’t remember this race being quite so competitive the last time I did it (which was, I’ll admit, prior to Covid). The top 10 men all ran under 16 mins and the top two ladies under 17, with a third of the field getting age grade % of over 80. As a lady chatting at the start said, she wondered if she had dropped into the Olympics!
The circuit is flat tarmac, 5x 1k laps, the wind had dropped to a slight breeze and the temperature was mid teens vest and shorts weather. For those still in the parkrun league this is the Heslington parkrun circuit.
A brilliant time from Matthew Thackwray who whizzed past to lap me in a red and green flash and lovely to chat to Helen and Dick.
