From Petra Bijsterveld…
21 Harriers toed the start line for the Wharfedale Half today, the contingent appeared to be more or less the entire crew of marshals and volunteers from yesterday’s Trail Race! No coincidence I guess. A little cooler and windier than forecast, but it turned out to be a good temperature for running and we had a tailwind on Mastiles Lane which must be a first. Excellent running from all on a course which was largely dry until the section across Boss Moor. Special mention must surely go to Jeff Green who not only claimed the ‘usual’ 1st M50 but was 3rd overall in a phenomenal time. Jeff surely needs a trophy room rather than a trophy cabinet after this season’s performances!
