From Helen Waddington…
Wetheral is a pretty Cumbrian village high on the banks of the River Eden and hosts this friendly, well-organised road race held on quiet country lanes. It’s an undulating course which (not surprisingly) takes you through 3 villages which form a convenient 5 mile triangle. I opted for the 2 lap 10-mile version and I did see one other IH vest enjoying the 5 miler (sorry I couldn’t find you on the results!). The high winds were still making conditions less than favourable but the sun shone and it was warm enough for shorts and vests, at last.
