On 14th May Christos Tzelis took part in the Weston Park Sprint Duathlon which was a qualifying event for the 2024 European Sprint Distance Duathlon Championships.

It was a mixed-age race so Christos was competing against many much older competitors in an event which consisted of four laps of the cycle course either side of a 2.5k and 5k run. Christos won his age category and incredibly finished third overall in 1.08.57, just 21 seconds behind the winner, and missing second by just seven seconds.

A brilliant result, which means Christos has qualified for the 2024 European Sprint Distance Duathlon Championships Event, the date and location has still to be confirmed by Europe Triathlon. A superb achievement from one of our young Harriers, well done Christos.
