From Jann Smith…
Wasdale Horseshoe Fell Race – English Championships 21 miles / 9000 ft
Widely known as one of the hardest fell races on the calendar this beast takes on most of the highest, roughest boulder strewn terrain in England such as Scafell Pike, Great Gable and Pillar. The weather was drizzly and clagged in on the tops which made the self navigation a touch difficult and there were some serious bogs to contend with. It was a tale of seconds for all the Ilkley Harriers with Ben Rothery coming 2nd overall in an eyewatering time of 3hrs 48 mins and myself and Kate taking 2nd in our age categories.
2nd Ben Rothery 3hrs 48 mins,
53rd Kate Archer 5hrs 37 mins. ( 2nd F45 )
198th Jann Smith 6 hrs 32 mins ( 2nd F55 )
