From Helen Waddington…
A lovely day for this event which feels more like a full marathon due to its size (nearly 11,500 starters), superb organisation and fantastic crowd support along the whole route. The beautiful sights of the city and the intricate nature of the route keep you distracted and, quite literally, on your toes! It’s a breathtaking experiencing running through King’s College and the varying surfaces underfoot and tight turns meant that my size 4 feet gave me a slight advantage over some of my competitors. Despite all this it proves to be a fast course with the winner crossing the finish line in just over 65 minutes and the first female finishing in an impressive 1.13.49.
