Rudding ParkRace 10k – Tue 9 May

From Hilda Coulsey…

This is an unusually well rewarded trail/ cross country race. The grounds of Rudding Park Hotel and Golfclub are delightful and, with some 130m of elevation and several quite muddy sections on mostly parkland, the race is a challenge particularly noticeable in the last section uphill having already run a little more than10k 🙂 The weather was kind as 10 Harriers lined up with some 400 other runners. The atmosphere was very friendly/social and facilities were excellent. I’d forgotten what it was like to race a 10k however I wasn’t the only one to find it tough, although to be fair most of the course elevation is after 5k. After recovery from the final uphill we had the further delights of an extensive goody bag, prosecco or beer, hog roast/veggie option and ice cream.

Although pricey for a cross country, IH do receive a £10 discount and I’d say it was more than excellent value. Lots of prizes for IH too, see below. And for me a bonus Jonny Brownlee handshake! One for the diary for next year.
