A super race; up the hill to the cliff top (not really very high but steep), up and down along the cliff on a path, turn and look forward to pounding down the hill and sprinting along the promenade to the finish just as the sun is setting. I had run the race last year and after injuries this year I was much less confident of a good time but I scooted home a very pleasing 40 secs slower.
The race is a good local one with plenty of club runners and a few tourists, the atmosphere is fun and friendly. I capped off the fun by running the Saturday morning Portrush parkrun along the beach with my grandsons, first timers, proud grandma!
