The venue for the third race in the Peco series is usually a reliably muddy cross-country. However, the recent cold temperatures had turned the previously churned mud into small hard, solid mounds with the benefit of not being quite icy. The course comprised plenty of variety with a mixture of laps of playing fields and undulating trails through the woods. The 341 ladies set off 10 minutes ahead of the 467 men but it seemed that we were soon being caught and passed by fastest of these.

The first Ilkley Harrier male was Edward Hobbs in a fantastic seventh place followed by Dan McKeown, Steve Gott and Danny Tompson all in the top 100.

Alison Bennett was the first Ilkley Harrier Lady in 102nd (1st VF60), followed by Jo Foster, Helen Jacques, Sally Wright and Sarah Lambert.
