Norman Cole Penistone 10km – Sun 18 June

From Beth Massey…

With not many road races to choose from of late, we [Beth and Mark Hall] decided to travel into South Yorkshire to do the Norman Cole Penistone 10km. Having not done the race for a few years I had forgotten how hilly it was! It is a tough course for around 6km before a long descent down to the Trans Pennine Trail path and a flat run-in for the final 3km. This is a well-organized and friendly race with an excellent goody bag for all finishers and prizes spanning all categories.

Mark had an excellent race finishing 8th overall and 1st V60 in a time of 38.28. I was really pleased to finish 3rd lady overall and 1st FV50 in 43.48.

The race was won by Scott Hinchcliffe of Barnsley AC in 33.30 and the ladies winner was Julie Briscoe of Wakefield Harriers in 38.33.
