From Sally Armitage…
An undulating, chip timed, closed road 10k around the streets of Morley. The weather was perfect, 10 degrees, no wind, no rain.
Prior to this race I wasn’t going to write a report, solely because I’ve been in a funk and feeling old and unfit, having not raced much this year at all compared to last year. But… I was really pleased with my performance! Not knowing how the race would unfold, I decided to stick with the 40-minute pacer initially and see how I felt; I stuck with him for the first 5k and then pushed on. I was grateful to have him, never having run with a pacer before it was nice to not feel the need to look at my watch and just run. The snippets of encouragement were a bonus too! It was a well organised and really well supported event, and it didn’t break the bank! Definitely one for the calendar next year.
