Litton Birks Fell Race – Sat 15 Nov 2025

From Peter Roll…

Looking for a shorter, less arduous alternative to the Tour of Pendle? What about the fabulous Litton Birks Fell Race? Only a 5km parkrun distance, though admittedly with 362m of ascent. Plus there’s amazingly good bunnage, (lots of scrummy cakes and tray bakes) when you finish.

The course is the usual straight up and down the fell, returning on the same route. The incline isn’t too steep, in fact parts of it are quite runnable on the ascent, even in the wet drizzly conditions of last Saturday. And it must be one of the safest races as it’s well marshaled by the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) volunteers.

Everybody was so friendly, even the marshals that had to push the Campervan when I got stuck trying to enter the farmer’s field to park.

All in all a fab experience, that has nothing to do with finishing 1st MV60.
