The Evensplits 5k series started again last month and offers 10 monthly races over the year (February to November) on the Brownlee cycle circuit at the Bodington Playing Fields. Just three Harriers toed the starting line this month on a very cold and breezy night. With the temperature down to 2 degrees there was a black ice warning! I had entered the day before feeling ‘on form’ by my standards and hoped I might be able to have a good run. Whilst the legs felt good going round I was disappointed to be nowhere near my PB which I ran on the same course exactly a year ago. Still, I ‘enjoyed’ racing short and fast on the road as a change from my more usual ultra running. Nice to catch up with Britt and Harry who both had good runs.
