Well organised trail race with a great atmosphere. The course is fully flagged and marshalled and heads out of Hawkshead up through a forest, past a tarn then down to Windermere. After a short flattish stretch along the lake shore it’s then back over the mile-long, very steep, “Coffin Trail” before a fast descent to the finish. 471m of ascent in total, mostly runnable but with at least one technical descent and enough rocks, mud and fallen trees to keep me on my toes!

There was also a 10k race and challenge options for both routes for runners and walkers.
