Conditions were rough for this ‘10k’ (nearer 11k) race from the heart of Kendal. Part of the Kendal Mountain Festival the race starts up Beast Banks to circuit around Scout Scar before finishing down fields and steep cobbles into Kendal. Torrential rain throughout with ice on top meant plenty of tumbles. The field was down on the usual 1000 runners due to the snows of Storm Bert. We were up for the Festival – so OK to get to the race. I was 2nd V55 (behind a few V60+). Not sure if the other Harriers entered managed to make it as official results aren’t out yet, and most runners had waterproofs over club vests!
