A new iteration of the much missed John Carr 5ks, which many IH have enjoyed in the past. This version, hosted by Saltaire Striders (with Racebest providing the timing), took place at the Greenhead Athletics track in Keighley. A trackside DJ provided an upbeat, friendly atmosphere as runners warmed up and family and friends milled around intermittently sheltering under umbrellas as the showers came and went. The race format is similar in nature to The Hyde Park Summer mile, in that runners were grouped into heats dependent upon their predicted finish time. Four IH took part, with Luke gaining a big PB, and Danny and me (and I think Jacqui!) enjoying our first track experience. A perhaps surprisingly small field given the PB potential, but hopefully it will grow.
