The final week of the school holidays is here and our Juniors have been busier than ever! From training on the fells and fields to racing all over the place, everybody has put in a massive effort with some amazing results!

 Gargrave Show & Burnsall Sports

The results from last week are finally in and they were well worth the wait:

• Thomas Bailey: 3rd in the U12 Race at Gargrave Show 
• Georgia Poulter: 1st Girl in the U10 Race at Burnsall Sports 
• Harris Poulter: 2nd in the U12 Race at Burnsall Sports 

 Malham Show

On Saturday, two of our Juniors proudly wore their red and green vests to secure these fantastic wins:

• Isobel Moore: 1st Girl home in the U12 Race (08:04)
• Michael Moore: 1st Boy home in the U14 Race (10:16)

 Grasmere Lakeland Sports and Show 

The annual Grasmere Sports took place on Sunday and these races are not for the faint hearted! Three of our Juniors took on the challenge with Top Ten finishes for all!

• Isobel Moore was 3rd U12 Girl.
• Michael Moore also finished 3rd in the U14 Race with Olly Brooksvery close behind in 9th Place.

Great running from all of you (and a busy weekend for Isobel and Michael).

 Parkrun

Another massive weekend of PBs and age category firsts!

• East Holmes Field: Rafe Garner (24:28) led our juniors home, followed by Harris Poulter with a new Parkrun PB (24:50), Wilbur Smith (27:00), Daisy Lowe (31:12), and Georgia Poulter with a new Parkrun PB (32:55).

• Lister Park: Lily Singleton finished the three lap course in 30:25 (1st JW15-17).

• Horton Park: Max Hebbron finished in 24:46 (1st JM10).

• Alderney Park: Oscar Shinn finished 7th overall in 20:38.

• Cliffe Castle: Milena Morgan had an outstanding run, finishing as 2nd Female in 23:33, followed by Archie Hallworth (1st JM10 in 24:47) and Harvey Morgan (27:21).

• Sewerby Park: Sohpie Leijssen led the juniors with a new PB of 24:56, followed by Pippa Singleton (28:45) and Megan Snow (30:15).

Sprint Relays – Wednesday, 02 September 2026

Our very own Sprint Relays are this Wednesday evening! Teams of four—make up your own teams and pick a fun name! Open to everyone (not just Junior Ilkley Harriers), so bring your friends along to celebrate the start of the Autumn Term.

It’s that time of year when we say a fond farewell to our older Juniors as they make the permanent move up to the Senior Section and head off to university, college, travelling, apprenticeships, or the workplace. We wish you all the absolute best of luck for the future – we can’t wait to see what you do next!
