Week Ending: 13.09.26
The new school year is well underway, the evenings are starting to draw in and autumn is definitely making its presence felt but thankfully the running is still going strong!
It may have been a slightly quieter week on the racing front, but there was still plenty for us to celebrate, with the BOFRA Championship League nearing its conclusion and our Juniors continuing to make the most of the ever-popular Parkruns.
There were PBs, podiums, age-category wins and some brilliant performances all round.
Here’s what our Juniors have been getting up to:
Bradley Fell Race
The Bradley Fell Race was the penultimate race in the BOFRA Championship League, giving competitors an opportunity to boost their points and improve their standings.
The race starts with a steady climb through fields and along tracks towards High Bradley before a steep climb for the U17s takeing them almost to the top of Bradley Moor. It certainly provided a challenging course but, as always, our Juniors rose to it brilliantly, with some superb podium performances!
Joseph Bentham continued his excellent form, finishing 2nd in the U17 Race.
Michael Moore once again had a strong race, finishing 2nd in the U14 Race.
Thomas Bailey had a great run to finish 2nd in the U12 Race, while Isobel Moore also took 2nd Girl in the U12 Race.
Oscar Spooner finished 21st Boy in the U12 Race.
In the U19 Race, Georgia Poulter finished 5th Girl, with Seth Spooner finishing 18th Boy.
A fantastic set of results!
Parkrun
Our Juniors were out early again this weekend, enjoying the friendly atmosphere of Parkrun and the early starts certainly paid off, with PBs and age-category firsts along the way!
At East Holmes Field Parkrun, Harris Poulter led our Juniors home with an excellent PB of 23:59, finishing 1st JM11-14. He was followed by Harvey Morgan in 24:51.
Georgia Poulter also recorded a PB, finishing in 31:09, with Daisy Lowe completing the course in 40:38.
Over at Cliffe Castle, Lerryn O’Neill had another fantastic run, finishing 2nd Female in 23:43.
At Chevin Forest, Michael Moore (possibly getting a little warm-up in ahead of the Bradley Fell Race the following day) completed the course in 29:42.
On Sunday at Riverside Gardens Junior Parkrun, we had a fantastic JIH 1-2!
Max Brett had a brilliant run to finish 1st in 7:13, followed by Cara Millar in 2nd place in 8:23.
Lerryn O’Neill completed the course in 7th place, with Peter Gardiner finishing 20th.
West Yorkshire Track and Field Championships
The West Yorkshire Track and Field Championships took place on Sunday, 13 September 2026 but we’re still waiting for the official results to be published. As soon as they’re available we’ll make sure they’re included in the next Results Roundup – watch this space!
