I was tempted into trying this half marathon after booking a holiday in the area. The race was subsequently selected to be a Scottish Championship event attracting a field of around 3000 runners.
It’s many years since I have taken part in a half marathon, and haven’t much experience at this distance so I just ran and felt relieved every time I saw another mile post to tick off. The slightly undulating course was well marshalled and it was fun to finish on an athletics track, just before the forecasted heavy rain started.
Edit: This is a new FV60 club record for the HM distance, which had stood at 01:48:07 since 2014 (set by Hilda Coulsey)
