From Alison Weston…

Ilkley Harriers managed to organise two teams to compete in the annual Hodgson Brothers relay at the weekend. It’s a really popular event with a lot of competition for team places. The race starts from Patterdale and has 4 paired legs covering 40km and 2450m ascent including Angle Tarn, High Street, Caudale Moor, Red Screes, Hart Crag, Fairfield and St Sunday Crag.

The race was won by Keswick AC in an incredible time of 3:32:25.

The Ilkley men’s team came a very creditable 22nd place in a total time of 4:24:12 and the ladies team 66th (and 10th ladies team) in 5:47:17.

Best leg of the day for Ilkley had to be Sam and Oli on leg 1 who got the team off to a great start in 3rd position overall!
