Hartlepool Marina 5 Mile – Sun 30 Apr

From Helen Waddington…

The backdrop for this race is Hartlepool’s beautiful quayside which houses the Trincomalee, Britain’s oldest warship still afloat, built in India after the Napoleonic wars. It’s a beautiful 3 mast tall ship which serves as a great visual goal when you make the halfway turn on this out and back course along the sea front. This was the second time for me at this race, which is superbly organised by Burn Road Harriers and has all the essential elements that make for a good road race – loads of convenient and free parking, huge race headquarters (Mecca Bingo!), indoor toilets and it’s flat and fast.
