Kate Archer and I were the only Harriers racing in Todmorden today. Ben and Abbie Rothery were there cheering folks on (thank you!) – Ben saving himself for the next English Champs race after a recent chest infection.
Only one word comes to mind for the race – mudfest. Mixed terrain included boggy fields, boggy moors and muddy tracks. But the sun was shining on the start line and vest and shorts were order of the day. A varied route, including a fab run through a plantation with some hardcore MTB trails running through it. The final descent to the finish line was not the faint hearted and with the first three men finishing within 10 seconds must have been exciting (and terrifying) to watch.
