From Mark Hall…
A trip into Lancashire, north of Preston for the Elswick Express 10m. The race is mainly flat with a few undulations. The weather conditions were poor due to the very strong wind. It felt like the wind was either from the side or a head wind for the most part. I finished 5th in 1.01.05 and 1st V60 from a small field of 74. It was a disappointing time but given the windy conditions and running most of the race alone in time trial mode the result was about right. The winner was B Tucker, Best Athletes club in 56.36.
I won a cheap (very) bottle of wine and a bag of fruit. The prizes just keep getting better!
(Edit: this is a new M60 record for the distance, replacing the previous record of 1:01:35 by Geoff Howard which had stood since 2004).
