Well done to the 11 Harriers at Eccup 10 this morning. Brilliant running everyone. 2nd place for Jack Wood. Special mention to brand new member Gawain Moore as the 2nd Harrier home still under the hour.
The weather was good, for a lovely walk, however we were there to run and it was really quite muggy and warm. At 180 metres elevation total it was definitely “undulating” and of course 10 miles :). It’s always a pleasant place to run, along closed country roads, around the reservoir, helping to raise funds for the local school and it was lovely to see happy spectators and friends.
It is quite competitive at the pointy end of the race, it would have been fun to see the duel between Dave Foyston and Mike AC, but lots of runners too taking their time and enjoying the views. I struggled in the second half but sped up as best as I could in the final mile (uphill!) to slip in under the 1.30 which was more than satisfactory.
(Edit: this sets the FV70 club record for the distance, well done Hilda!)
