From Jo Foster…
Jim and I were the only senior Ilkley Harriers at Coiners Fell Race on bank holiday Monday. After a half hour delayed start due to more than double the usual numbers turning up, we headed off on a varied route that, I think, showcases the best of Calderdale. The highlight is always reaching Stoodley Pike and sneaking a look at the view.
You know you’re in for a tough outing when the race announcer suggests you might need a snorkel out there. I’m blaming those bogs for being considerably slower than last time I did it or I could just be getting older!
We both ‘enjoyed’ it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys classic moorland running.
