From John Hayes…
There was a great turnout from the Harriers at this classic York half marathon with some excellent results all round. It had seemed a little ominous when the wind and rain lashed down overnight before the race. Fortunately, by morning the weather eased and the sun came out. But it still felt cold. This created endless choices: Hat or buff or both (or neither)? Vest or long sleeve top or both (but not neither)? Gloves or no gloves? etc. etc. I dithered so much over these I’m surprised I had any emotional energy left for the race. But I had a good run and enjoyed it. At the finish there was one more choice to make: Freddo Bar or Curly Wurly? I could not decide that one either. So I took them both.
