From Alison Bennett…

My 60th birthday started with an outing to the races. Fortunately, the jumps and the fences for which this course is renowned were not a feature of today’s 10k race. Setting off in socially distanced pairs for a two-lap course, passing the iconic Red Rum statue, along the Melling Road and finishing in front of the Grandstand created a special atmosphere and the results suggest the ‘going was good’.
