From Sally Armitage…

Hard to believe it’s been 3 years since I last ran this race. The older I get the quicker time passes, and the more grateful I am for wins like today. Last time I ran this race all I knew was that it was ‘undulating’, this time I was ready for it, the loooooong gradual climb for most of the first 4.5 miles and the speedy 1.5 mile descent to finish. I’m confident on hills so I cracked on from the get-go and felt good, something happened to my breathing as soon as I started to descend which frightened me but it eased off thankfully. I am on the backend of a respiratory virus so maybe that was the universe telling me not to push my luck. It was a great race though, now to hopefully recover by Guy Fawkes 10 next weekend!
