On Sunday Christos was competing with 250 others in the Darley Moor Sprint Duathlon, where he finished 3rd on the podium overall, but 1st U20. The race was won by Matthew Nelson in 51:09 and Christos finished in an impressive 52:29. 

What was particularly pleasing for Christos is that he was sharing the podium with Matthew and second placed Ben Price. That might not mean much to most of you, me included, but these two guys are elite duathlon and triathlon competitors who have competed in many European Championship events with very good results. The icing on the cake for Christos is this was an age group qualifier for the world championship sprint Duathlon, so he will be heading over to Pontevedra, Spain to compete there in 2025.

After a fair bit of travelling the previous day and a tough duathlon, on Monday, after a swim training session first thing, he was at our own trail race. He went out hard leading the way on the climb and across the moorland, getting caught on the way back down, but still finishing in a very creditable 4th place. 

Well done Christos, you need to put your feet up now for a couple of days, but I know that will not happen.
