From Iain Young…
I’m pleased for hitting my new 10 mile PB for the first time in 2 years, fingers crossed many more PB’s to come in the not too distant future and avoid injury. Well Done to Phil Joyner, Edward Hobbs and Geoffrey Howard who also ran today.
From Geoff Howard…
I’m sure that like many other members I often have a tune running through my head during road race. Ray Charles’s “Hit the Road Jack” would have been particularly apposite yesterday as five miles into the Tad 10, and feeling pleased to have successfully navigated around a couple running side by side, concentration was lost and a full frontal onto the tarmac ensued. The very kind couple urged staying put until any amount of emergency help arrived but it was very cold and isolated and all thoughts were on not losing time. Amazing upon resurfacing, those in front seemed no further away and I guess that only a few seconds were lost. The wonderful first aiders at the finish sorted out the somewhat bloody legacy of the tumble. Despite all that, it was a satisfying morning at a very well organised event.
