Tuesday 23rd Oct Training

Postby Beth » Sun Oct 21, 2012 5:58 pm

I'll be down at the club on Tuesday night doing a tempo run at 6min30 pace - no faster - approximately 6 miles in distance. A warm up out to the iron bridge, then a 6m tempo along to Burley, into the village and back to the iron bridge. Then a steady warm down back to the club. All welcome, but please note this will not be stop/start.

Yes I was thinking of doing something similar, probably along the lines of 6.45 to 7min mile pace. I would be looking to do a slightly shorter run though, missing out the Burley loop. Warm up to the iron bridge, tempo run from there to the Burley roundabout, regroup & then tempo back to iron bridge.
Anyone who fancies a tempo run is welcome, if you're not sure what pace you can run at, come along and give it a go, you may well surprise yourselves!

I've hardly run for 5 weeks, so I need to break myself in gently. I thought 5-6 miles at around 8 min mile pace. Out to Ben Rhydding and back with a few hills. No efforts and plenty of regrouping if needed. Paul

6.45-7 min/mile sounds a good pace for me.
