The Committee is meeting on Tuesday (1st Nov) so it’s time for a quick review of the month to encourage you all to nominate some runners for Harrier of the Month. There’s been some impressive double marathon results - Derek Oliver and David Howe both tackling Berlin (last month) and the Yorkshire marathon just two weeks later and both getting faster times - amazing! Petra took on Kielder for the second time also getting a PB and then off to Wales just four weeks later for the gruelling Snowdonia marathon finishing in an impressive 4 hours and 50 minutes. The Hodgson Brothers mountain relay saw great results for both the men’s and ladies’ teams so check out the results and see who deserves a nomination for their efforts on behalf of IH! Jack Wood and Tom Adams continue their impressive run of results - Jack coming 13th in the Langdale Horseshoe, and 2nd in the Withins Fell race, with Tom taking first place, and both performing brilliantly at Great Whernside Fell race, as well as another 6 harriers tackling this short but tough race with great results. Tom also won and set a new course record at the Running Bear Race you to the Summit race. Andrew Merrick had another Ultra success - completing the hilly 50 mile Lakes in a Day race. A fantastic result for Lucy Williamson in the Bangor 10k coming first lady with a time of 41.55. The Yorkshire 10 mile race (a growing event run alongside the main marathon) brought a PB for Jane McCarthy who finished 4th lady and 70th overall, with 3 other Harriers all taking part. Please take a look at the website as there’s always someone doing something amazing which I manage to overlook, and there may be more racing today. Don’t be shy and help me out! Nominations here on Facebook or to homnom@ilkleyharriers.org.uk. And don't forget there's volunteer of the month too.
