Lots of racing this month so it’s time to sit down with a nice cuppa and check out some of the great performances. As always, here is just a quick run through some of the highlights from the Website but feel free to add your own suggestions either here on Facebook, or the Forum or just email Hilda at homnom@ilkleyharriers.org.uk. The committee is meeting next Tuesday so nominations before then please.

Wetherby 10k saw some impressive times and three harriers in the top 100 - Richard Joel being the first home in just a few strides over 40 minutes. There was a fantastic turnout at the Ilkley Incline this year with 9 harriers claiming prizes in their category, Jack Wood winning - again! Another great show of green and red at the GNR with 8 people heading North and getting some fantastic results - almost all finishing in under 2 hrs 30 - well done everybody! The Vale of York Half marathon got good reviews from Dave Westhead who was first harrier home in an impressive 1.23.56 and David Oliver getting in under 90 minutes. Caroline and David Howe travelled to Berlin to complete the marathon both coming home with new PBs.

Turning to off-road Gavin Lamb put in a great performance at the Yorkshireman this year, coming 24th overall with a time of 2.12. In the Lakes 4 hardy harriers took on the challenging Mountain Trial with the Haines’ coming first in their respective categories. The Three Shires fell race brought another impressive result from Jack who finished 4th in just over two hours - other great results to check out on the website including Steve Turland who was 36th overall. The Yorkshire Vets XC Championship took place just down the road in Guiseley and saw Sally Malir coming home in an outstanding 6th place for the ladies and taking a nice Gold medal home for First V50, closely followed by Jann Smith who was 15th overall and claimed Silver for 2nd V45. Kate Archer has achieved a tremendous result taking the overall Queen of the Mountains Prize having completed Snowdon (7th lady), Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike (2nd lady) fell races and scoring highest points over the three races - well done Kate! I usually miss something or somebody so please help me out and don’t let some you knows' hard work and effort go unnoticed! Also please don’t forget the volunteers nomination . . . all those people working week in week out to keep the club, races and training sessions going!!! Well done all
