2017 Off Road Relays

Postby jackw » Wed Apr 05, 2017 6:31 pm

Are you interested in running for the Harriers in a relay? If so check the list below. Almost all legs are run in pairs over variety of distances and terrain. Fast fell runners make sure dates of 5 & 6 are on the calendar/fridge/scrawled on the wall! We have also been challenged to an 8 man tug of war against Ilkley Cycling Club as part of the Great Get together on the 18th June. I've pencilled in Ben Sheppard as anchor...Show your interest by commenting below and if there’s enough we'll form some teams.
1. 21st May- Calderdale Relay (team of 12)
2. 25th June- Bradford Millennium Relay (10)
3. Summer- Billy Bland Relay BG round (5 legs)
4. 2nd Sep- Leeds Country Way (12)
5. 1st Oct- Ian Hodgson Relays, Lake District (8)
6. 15th Oct- FRA Relays, Llanberis (6)

Just over 4 weeks to the Hodgson Relays...I've used recent race results and Hodgson experience to select what I think is a very strong team. Please confirm you are in good shape and keen to race. Reserves too, it is rare they are not called upon. We have a chance of beating the men's best ever position in this relay (9th in 2007?) so stay fit, recce leg if possible and let's smash it!
Leg 1 (6.7km, 440m)
Euan burn up Brennan + the stone rose Matt Cox
Leg 2 (11km, 890m)
Twin engine Dave Wilby + alpine goat Will Simmons
Leg 3 (7.5km, 570m)
The bull Iain Gibbons + little Jack Jack Cummings
Leg 4 (11km, 900m)
The monster Tom Adams + big Jack Jack Wood
Reserves: Ruaridh Mon-Williams, Paul James Carman, Martin Archer, Steve Turland, Ben Sheppard

Any more men keen to run in the British Fell Relays in Llanberis, 15th October? Currently entering an A team but will enter a B or Vet team if there's enough interest http://www.britishfellrelay.org.uk/
